Speaking from my personal experience..Let me start by asking you a few questions. Does running help you change body composition? Does running turn fat into muscle? Will running help you loose weight/lbs ? …. If you said yes to all the questions above your wrong . Running does not turn fat into muscle, unless your a beginner runner then yes you will gain muscle on your legs. Jogging and or running is a very efficient way to burn those extra calories and loose a whole lot of weight if you wanted to. However how many people want to run everyday or every other day ? If you can maintain an active running lifestyle on a daily than believe me your on your way to keeping all the weight off for good. However we live in a more complicated world now in days and sometimes it not always safe to take a jog in your neighborhood or let alone after a long day/s work head to the gym to run on a treadmill or a track. It’s not as convenient as it was in highschool..so we have to get a little bit smarter and a bit more ingenuine in our approaches when we have to face cardio. Anywho let’s seg way back to the topic of muscle and fat. So if running only builds muscle on our legs, how do we reach other parts of the bodies? How do we approach building muscle around my back, arms and especially our joints? The only way to put it. Frankly is by touching some weights, either at home or at the gym..And that’s another story in itself..We have 600 +muscles in our body how do we reach the major ones at least ? Good question ❓ ⁉️….So From my experience it’s best to combine a bit of both. You don’t want to get caught up doing too much cardio because what happens your skin becomes a bit more looser..Not only that but it does not guaranteed permanent results. Why? because if your not changing your eating habits ? the way you eat/ lifestyle habits make a huge difference in contributing to gaining all the weight back. The weight easily comes right back.! Trust me I’ve been there and done that for many years as I experimented with extreme cardio, example training for and running the marathon. The key is figuring out how your body works and what it takes to keep it going. Turn your fat into muscle and make your body into fat burning machine by maintaining and building muscle all over there fore ridding the fat and replacing it with muscle. If your hitting all the major muscle groups like legs; quads, hamstrings, glutes and calf’s, upper body;chest and triceps, back and biceps, shoulders and the abs just to name a few. What you will start seeing is a smaller more toned version of yourself. Ultimately If you want changes and want to learn how to maintain permanent weight loss and be able to tone and firm skin around problem areas, then build muscle!
I don’t claim to know everything but I definitely can say I have some knowledge and years of fitness experience through my own journey that started as a high school Swimmer to avid long distance runner as well as other sport enthusiast/lover.
